The Island of Kauai
Kauai is Hawaii’s fourth largest island and is
sometimes called the “Garden Island,” which is an entirely
accurate description.
The oldest and northernmost island in the Hawaiian
chain is draped in emerald valleys, sharp mountain spires and
jagged cliffs aged by time and the elements. Centuries of
growth have formed tropical rainforests, forking rivers and
cascading waterfalls. Some parts of Kauai are only accessible by
sea or air, revealing views beyond your imagination. More
than just dramatic beauty, the island is home to a
variety of outdoor activities. You can kayak the Wailua
River, snorkel on Poipu Beach, hike the trails
of Kokee State Park, or go ziplining above Kauai’s lush
valleys. But, it is the island’s laid-back atmosphere and rich
culture found in its small towns that make it truly
timeless. Make your escape to Kauai and discover the undeniable
allure of the island.

Optional Activities
Monday, April 30 — The Ultimate Ranch
Tour is a breathtaking three-hour off-road tour through
Kipu Ranch. We will ride through lush green pastures, venture
down into tropical Huleia Valley, and ascend to majestic Haupu
for a breathtaking view of Kipu Kai, Kauai’s untouched paradise.
We will traverse to the top of Mt. Haupu, through the forests and
along the Hule’ia River to the Indiana Jones Rope Swing. We will
ride through historic landscape and movie locations such as
Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark, and most
recent The Descendants. Drinks, snacks, helmets, goggles and
bandannas are provided. Closed toe shoes are required. Two people
per vehicle with both being allowed to drive provided each has a
driver’s license.
Tuesday, May 1 — Waimea Canyon and Kokee
State Parks Hiking Tour
Waimea Canyon is a deep network of canyons that are spectacular
and something you would not expect to see on the Hawaiian
Islands. We will go along a remote area of Kokee Park to get to
the southern part of the Napali Coast where we will be accessing
one of the more remote ridge tops for exquisite views of the
Polihale State Park and get a peek of the last five miles of the
Napali coastline which many people do not get to see. We will
also do a brief hike along the rim of the Waimea Canyon where we
will see the three side canyons called the Waialae, the Koaie,
and the Poomau. You will have a much better perspective of the
whole island from this short, sweet and easy hike.
Tuesday, May 1 — Tasting Kauai Food
Tour is suitable for all age groups and fitness levels.
This tour is a celebration of food inspired by Hawaii’s diverse
cultures. Enjoy delectable foods from one-of-a-kind specialty
food stores, a food truck and famous local restaurants while
receiving an insider’s view into the culture and history that
defines the Garden Island. Walk away with new culinary
perspectives, big smiles, satisfied taste buds and the confidence
to explore new flavors. The entire tour will provide generous
tastings like award-winning sushi and molecular gastronomy.
You’ll sample tropical fruit made into jams, bowls, gelato and
pastries and uncover the best vendors at a gourmet farmers market
as you follow in the comfort of your own car and sample the
sights, flavors and culture of Kauai’s sunny South Shore.
Wednesday, May 2 — Snorkel Sail
Tour gets an early departure from Port Allen. We will
head toward Napali where you’ll see views of Niihau, Polihale and
the ridges of Kokee. The early morning departure means calmer
conditions and virtually ensures an encounter with a massive pod
of Hawaiian Spinner dolphins that cruise up the coast daily. We
will take a near-shore route up the entire coast then sail
downwind offshore. On Napali you’ll see spectacular sea cliffs,
numerous waterfalls and lava tubes. This coastline is the result
of nearly eight million years of exposure to wind, waves and
rain. The crew is knowledgeable in the history and legends of the
ancient civilizations that once inhabited these valleys. After a
downwind sail, we’ll pull into a remote snorkel spot where we
anchor and you can get in the water, or simply relax. After
snorkeling the crew prepares a delicious lunch with beer
and wine.
Thursday, May 3 — This Customized Private
Photography Adventure covers the east through north
shores of Kauai. This is the tour to take to see as many
different places as possible and if you are new to the island
wanting to learn your way around. Or, if you’ve been here before
but just want to see, walk around, enjoy and photograph some of
the most beautiful, secluded and lush settings found anywhere in
Hawaii—or in the World for that matter! You will get to explore
and photograph each location including many off-the-beaten-path
gorgeous settings. This photo tour is TRULY a stroll through
paradise! Camera and equipment rental and sales are available.
This tour can be customized for a small group.
Friday, May 4 — Watercolor Painting
Class while sipping wine and enjoying some local
appetizers in the studio of Watercolors by Marionette—a
professional art studio that is comfortable and fun. Your
creative juices will flow as Marionette guides you through a
watercolor painting class. We will paint a scene from Shipwreck
Beach. All art supplies are included with the class, and taught
step by step so there is NO EXPERIENCE necessary! Just come
enjoy, relax and paint!
