Housing Programs

Some counties (not all) offer rent assistance (Section 8), mobilehome rehabilitation grants or loans, and utilities payment assistance. Some counties’ Weights & Measures depts. will inspect the accuracy of residential utility meters.

Legal Resources

Most legal resources are provided by community-based, non-profit organizations.

Senior and Social Services

Some counties (not all) and non-profits offer services, grants or vouchers for medical care, food, in-home care, etc. United Way is a central
agency for numerous nonprofit organizations.

Veterans’ Services

Some veterans may be eligible for mobilehome loans, or grants to adapt a home for service-related disabilities. Also, see calvet.ca.gov.
