Since 1937, CMHI has been advocating for the manufactured housing industry. Established as a non-profit professional trade association, CMHI has proudly represented builders of factory constructed homes, retailers, financial services, developers and community owners and their supplier companies. 

The Jack E. Wells award is presented annually to a person who has demonstrated long term outstanding service to CMHI and the manufactured housing industry. Jack Wells, through his company, co-sponsored the Jack E. Wells award beginning in 1950. Jack was remembered for his outstanding contributions to the industry and trade associations. Following his death in 1971, it was decided that the award would be known as the Jack E. Wells Memorial Award.

Dave Thomas, a longtime WMA member and supporter has been selected by CMHI as the 2023 Jack E. Wells Memorial Award recipient. Dave will be honored at a signature black tie event at the end of March at CMHI’s Annual Convention. WMA’s Executive Director, Doug Johnson and Regina Sánchez, Director of Communications and Events, will attend this evening in support of Dave.

Dave Thomas has been an active member of WMA since 1986 serving as the Orange County Chapter Treasurer, WMA Convention panel speaker, seminar facilitator, and is currently the chairperson of the WMA Convention Planning Committee.
