California Climate Credit Bill Relief from the Cap-and-Investment Program
A Message from the California Public Utilities Commission
This April*, the natural gas credit identified as the “California Climate Credit” will automatically apply to your utility bill. Your household and millions of others throughout the State will receive a similar credit on their utility bill.
The California Climate Credit is designed to help utility customers during the transition to a more sustainable future and is a direct result of California’s nation-leading Cap-and-Invest Program that requires polluters to pay for climate pollution.
PG&E** households will automatically receive the Climate Credit on their utility bill:
Natural gas credit: $46.26 (April)
Since 2014, the CPUC calculates PG&E residential customers have received nearly $1,183 in California Climate Credits, totaling $15.2 billion in Cap-and-Invest Program cumulative benefits statewide.
