California’s statewide rent-cap proposal gets two key changes

A closely-watched bill that would ban steep rent hikes throughout California has been softened — slightly — in effort to win over skeptics as a legislative deadline looms.

The law would sunset after 10 years, and it would no longer apply to properties built within the past decade, a rolling exemption that would end once a building hit the 10-year mark. READ MORE
