L.A. County Rent Registry Card: What to Know
By Hart Kienle Pentecost

If you own a rental property or a manufactured home community in unincorporated L.A. County, you may have received a letter in the mail about a new Rental Registry created and implemented by the County’s Rent Stabilization and Tenant Protections Ordinances.

This letter explains that you must register with the L.A. County Rent Registry and pay annual fees for each unit in your rental property or community on or before October 31, 2023, or be assessed late fees. In addition to late fees, community owners will be unable to increase rents or pass-through costs to their tenants and/or manufactured homeowners unless and until there is compliance.

Please review the Rental Registry requirement with your park’s legal counsel before the deadline of October 31, 2023.
