Important information for domestic master-metered customers, including mobile home park owners with sub-metered tenants
SCE’s 2005 20/20 Summer Savings Program
SCE’s popular 20/20 Summer Savings Program is back for 2005. The 20/20 Summer Savings Program will run from June 5 to October 2 of this year. Under this program, all qualifying bundled service customers, including domestic master-metered customers with less than 200 kW demand who reduce their average daily energy usage for the entire summer of 2005 compared to the summer of 2004, will receive the value of their savings plus another 20% bill credit on their summer charges, excluding state and local taxes. What You Need To Know As A Domestic Master-Metered Customer
As a domestic master-metered customer served on Schedules DMS-1, DMS-2, or DMS-3, you are eligible to receive the 20/20 Summer Savings Program credit. If your account achieves a 20% average reduction for the entire summer of 2005, SCE will separately identify on your bill a credit earned under the 20/20 Summer Savings Program. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has ordered SCE to provide guidance to domestic master-metered customers regarding the distribution of rebates and credits to their sub-metered tenants.
How You Should Provide A Credit To Your Sub-Metered Tenants
For administrative ease and to comply with the CPUC’s order, you should distribute any credit your account earned to your current sub-metered tenants based upon each tenant’s share of the total amount of electricity consumed during the last billing period. For example, if a sub-metered tenant's usage for the August to September 2005 billing period is five percent of the total master-metered usage for the same period, that sub-metered tenant would receive five percent of the total 20/20 credit provided to you on your October 2005 billing statement.
