October '07 Southern California Wildfires

Charred remains of a Valley Oaks mobilehome in Fallbrook, CA. More than 50 percent of the homes in this community were destroyed by wildfire.  Watch Video.

In 2005 , we launched the WMA Foundation.  Its first effort was to establish an emergency relief fund to assist manufactured home communities and those residents who may be in need due to fire, earthquake, flood, or other disasters. The WMA Foundation Board's goal was to be able to respond to dire situations where there is no other source of support for our residents. This assistance is ancillary to the sweeping type of support that the Red Cross or other governmental entities provide. Nevertheless, this outreach is greatly appreciated by those residents who have suffered tremendous misfortune and irreplaceable loss.

The recent southern California fires caused catastrophic, widespread devastation throughout the region and the recovery period will be long.. Thousands have lost their homes, including many residing in manufactured home communities in the area. In the community of Valley Oaks Mobile Ranch in Fallbrook, the fire has caused unspeakable damage. Of the 212 spaces, 140 homes are gone. GONE.

To better assist our residents who've suffered from this tragic chain of events and meet the need for disaster assistance, we ask that you contributer any amount you can afford to the WMA Foundation today. Your contribution is completely tax deductible, as the WMA Foundation is approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
